A Vintage Rarity Influenced by the 60s

The design of Poljot International's Samara originates from the 60s with modern updates. The hour markers get a thinner and more elegant shape so these fit perfectly visually to the narrow shape of the hands.

Numbers were chosen to represent the minute scale. These were placed on the outer edge of the dial. The curvature of the dial on the outer edge remains, as in the original models of the 60s, and successfully continues this tradition.

The colour of the dials was also adapted to the 60s. A delicate champagne and emerald green hue play the main role, as these colors were very popular at the time. The plain hands of the green version are designed in white; the champagne version gets blued hands. Due to these contrasts, they support the easy readability of the time.

The Poljot 2609 movement used for these models is a rarity.

The glass back of the watch is an update compared to conventional vintage models. It was very important for the designer to show the original vintage movement as this contrasts to the highly decorated and refined movements we are used to nowadays.

The Samara comes with a 38.5mm case which is made of brushed stainless steel. Both the bezel and case back are highly polished. These finishes create contrasts to make the already flat watch, visually even flatter. The straps are produced from high quality and soft calfskin without continuous stitching. The coarse stitching on the sides maintains the traditional look of the 60s.

Both Samara models are limited to 50 pieces each.

About Poljot International

The roots of the watch brand “Poljot-International” date back to the 1930s, when the “First State Watch Factory” was founded in Moscow. In 1961, after the flight of the first citizen of the earth, Yuri Gagarin, into space, the watches produced by the factory were given the designation “Poljot” (the flight).

All watches of the brand “Poljot-International” are manufactured in Germany today. Nevertheless, the charm and delicacy in the design, the skilful hands of the master watchmakers, the warmth of the Russian soul and, of course, the love for Russia can be seen and felt.
